Tangerine Tango-Pantone’s 2012 Color of the Year

This week’s inspiration comes to me courtesy of Pantone, the undisputed doyen of all things color.  Earlier this month, the company, which has been forecasting color selections for the past 45 years, chose Tangerine Tango as the color of the Year for 2012.
Replacing, 2010’s Honeysuckle, the strong and confident choice to lift our spirits in a time of economic stress, Tangerine Tango will provide “the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward” says Pantone’s executive director Leatrice Eiseman. Nanette Lepore, Eli Tahari and Tommy Hilfiger were just a few of the fashion designers to incorporate this lively interpretation of the popular orange into their Spring 2012 Collections.pantone elie Elie Tahari Spring 2012 Collection via Elie Tahari

Join me this week to explore the influence of this dramatic, sophisticated and seductive color as it makes it’s was to market.  You’ll find Tangerine Tango popping  up in tabletop, pillows and bedspreads, as well as other areas, adding a little spice, heat and energy into your home decor.
