West Elm Gives Handmade a Hand

I realize that stores always have the bottom line in mind, but I love when a well know brand supports the handmade train.  West Elm has had my eye for some time now, and their newest collection of one-of-a-kind items for the Found Shop is right on point. The company has partnered with Aid to Artisans, a leader in creating opportunities for artisans around the world, and become one of their leading retail outlets.

Sourcing from the souks off Marrakech’s Jemaa el-Fina Square, buyers have secured a selection of hand hammered trays made of recycled aluminum.  The production method insures each tray’s unique design.west elm kantha pillows

Made from wool and cotton, the rich colors and intricate weaves make these artisan accessories a treasured addition for any home.  Wouldn’t you love to ride into this environment and settle in with a good book and a cup of mint tea?
