Considered by many to be the world's greatest sushi chef, Jiro Ono is an 85 year old master of his craft.
His restaurant, Sukiyabashi Jiro, is an unassuming 10 seat 'temple' located in a Tokyo subway station. Here, sushi is taken to new heights, and Jiro has been rewarded for his devotion with a prestigious 3 star Michelin review. Diners from around the globe call months in advance for one of his coveted seats.

Jiro is obsessed with perfection, and even at his age, still works hours that would cripple most chefs half his 85 years.  Beautifully shot, the 80 minute documentary focuses on his relationship with his eldest son Yoshikazu, heir to the throne, yet living under the weighty shadow of his father's success. The complicated relationship between father and son combined with the art of perfection provide an interesting inside look into the world of sushi.
I promise you, your appreciation for the art of nigiri glistening with a glaze of soy sauce will never be the same again.
