The combination of good design and sustainably made home accessories is a winner in my book. Margarita Lorenzo, and her UK based company, Chocolate Creative, produces a dreamy collection that includes cushions, prints, door knobs and tea towels. I was especially taken with the collection of
pillows.
Inspired by vintage paintings, just the type you might find tucked in a corner at flea markets to make your heart go pitter pat, they are digitally printed onto fabrics. Don't you love her signature label?
The company is committed to working with the best quality eco materials available in the local markets.markets. Using 100% organic whenever possible, linens, hemp and cottons make up the fabrications.
Second hand shops occasionally provide up cycled fabrics and water based inks, eco varnishes and paint are used in the process. Wood is FSC certified and sustainable and the company has a strong eco policy in place for their internal practices.
Following in the footsteps of traditional craftsmen, each of the products is made by either Margarita, her mother or local artisans who fulfill the designers vision.
These knobs would make particularly handsome accents in a room that matches their color palate. If you'd like to see more of the lovely collections-Decayed Glamour, Cameos, Vintage or English Romantic, hop on over to their web site Chocolate Creative. Clearly Margarita's design aesthetic can turn your home into a work of art.
